Offset, Screen & Foil Printing in Chennai

Labels, mono cartons and boxes, printed in bulk since 1998. We design them too — which is the reason they actually print.

Most printing problems are not printing problems. They are artwork problems that nobody caught until the plates were already made.

Fineline Graphics has been printing in Chennai since 1998, and designing for print for just as long. That combination is the whole point: when the same studio draws the die-line and runs the job, the file arrives press-ready, the registration holds, and nobody discovers on delivery day that the gold was specified in RGB.

What we print

Labels & stickers

Paper, metallised polyester, vinyl and transparent. Roll-form or sheet, die-cut to any shape. Bottles, jars, pouches, drums.

Brochures & catalogues

Saddle-stitched, perfect-bound or folded. Product catalogues, price lists, company profiles.

Mono cartons & boxes

Duplex, SBS and kraft board. Reverse-tuck, auto-lock bottom, sleeve and rigid gift boxes, cut to a die-line we draw ourselves.

Business stationery

Letterheads, visiting cards, envelopes, bill books, invoice pads - matched exactly to your brand colours.

Corrugated outers

3-ply and 5-ply shippers printed and tested to survive a truck, not just a photograph.

Special finishes

Hot foil, cold foil, spot UV, emboss and deboss, matt and gloss lamination, textured papers.

Offset, screen or digital - which ever you need

OFFSET

Best for: 1,000+ pieces. Cartons, labels, brochures, catalogues.

Why: Lowest cost per piece at volume, sharpest halftones, possibility to use exact Pantone matching colors.

Watch for: Plate cost makes short runs uneconomical.

SCREEN

Best for: Heavy ink coverage, metallics, unusual surfaces.

Why: Lays down thicker ink than offset. Vivid solids, opaque whites on dark stock, prints on plastic and glass.

Watch for: Not suited to thin elements, fine gradients or small texts.

DIGITAL

Best for: Under 500 pieces, variable data, urgent jobs.

Why: No plates, so no setup cost. Same-week turnaround.

Watch for: Higher cost per piece, and Pantone matching is not possible yet.

Not sure? Send us the quantity and the surface. That is usually enough for us to tell you in one reply.

How a print job runs here

1. Brief and quantity

Tell us the product, the run size, the surface and the deadline. If you have artwork, send it. If you don't, we design it.

2. Die-line and artwork

We draw the die-line to your product's real dimensions, then lay the artwork onto it. You see a flat and a 3D mockup before anything moves.

3. Proof

A physical proof for colour-critical work, a soft proof for everything else. Nothing goes to plate without your written approval.

4. Print and finish

Offset, screen or digital, then lamination, foiling, die-cutting, pasting.

5. Delivery

Packed and delivered across Chennai, and can be shipped anywhere in India.

What we need from your artwork

If you already have a designer, this is the short version of what makes a file printable. Send anything that misses these and we will fix it rather than fail the job - but it costs a day.

• Vector format - CDR, AI, EPS or PDF. Not AI generated, JPG, not PNG, not even a Word file.

• CMYK, not RGB. Screen colours do not exist on paper.

• 300 dpi minimum for any placed photograph.

• 3 mm bleed on every edge, with a 5 mm safety margin inside the trim.

• Fonts converted to outlines, or supplied with the file.

• Pantone numbers stated along with printed sample for any colour that has to match exactly.

• Die-line on its own layer, marked as such.

• Barcode at 100% size or larger, with a quiet zone. Shrunk barcodes fail scanners.

Four ways print jobs go wrong

Registration drift on long runs.

Fine outlines and hairline type shift on a moving press. We can thicken critical strokes at artwork stage instead of discovering it on sheet 4,000.

Gold that arrives brown.

Metallics printed as CMYK are a simulation. If your brand gold has to be gold, it needs foil or a Pantone metallic - and that decision belongs in the design, not the print order.

Colour that shifts across substrates.

The same file prints differently on coated board, kraft and metallised film. We adjust per substrate rather than sending one file everywhere.

Logos that were never built for print.

A logo designed only for a website often has effects, gradients or RGB values that cannot be reproduced. We rebuild these - it is the most common repair we do.

Printing FAQ

What is your minimum order quantity?

For offset, 1,000 pieces is the practical minimum in A4 as starting size - below that, plate setup dominates the cost. For digital printing there is no minimum. Screen printing minimums depend on the item; ask us.

How long does a print job take?

Digital work can turn around in 2–3 working days. Offset runs typically take 7–10 working days from artwork approval, depending on finishing. Foiling, lamination and die-cutting each add a day.

Do you print if I already have my own design?

Yes. Send print-ready artwork and we will quote on it directly. We will also flag anything in the file that will cause trouble on press, before we print it.

Can you match my exact brand colour?

Offset or digital, we get close but cannot guarantee an exact match, due to factors like pH content, season, humidity level, substrate etc. Tell us the Pantone number up front and we will tell you honestly how much is achievable on your chosen material.

Do you deliver outside Chennai?

Yes. We are based in Chennai and can ship printed material across India.

Do you handle the design as well as the printing?

Yes, and that is the usual reason clients come to us. We have designed logos, packaging and brand identities since 1998, so the artwork we print is artwork we built to print.
